A recent piece in Salon by David Sirota confirms what I’ve said for some time, and that is, the corporate media and press has become little more than a mouthpiece for the government. The networks and national news magazines merely regurgitate the administration press releases and call it news, while openly editorializing against those wanting to get the truth in the public’s hand. I’ve written about Bob Schieffer of CBS News and Face the Nation, and David Gregory of NBC News and Meet the Press and their open hostility towards Edward Snowden and David Greenwald.
Most recently, Time Magazine’s Senior National Correspondent, Michael Grumwald, twittered how he would enjoy writing the article of how a drone took out WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and defend the action. This is a Senior Editor, for Time Magazine, advocating the killing by drone attack an out-in-the-open whistle-blower against the nefarious activities of our government. And what do the top editors and managers of Time have to say about this?
I last wrote about the death of true journalism on July 15th. See article, here. The fact that some of the major’s are just now picking up the story I find amazing. I mean this as a mostly rhetorical question, but am I that good, or are they that bad?
But that’s just me…
